Washington, DC stands at a turning point. Decades of entrenched mismanagement under Home Rule have contributed to failing schools, generational dependency, family instability, rising crime, urban decay, homelessness, and persistent government waste – leaving families underserved and residents increasingly voiceless. Chronic absenteeism, economic disadvantage, public safety failures, and repeated corruption scandals reflect systemic governance breakdowns rather than isolated problems. Under Article I, Section 8, Clause 17 of the United States Constitution, Congress retains exclusive authority over the District and bears both the power and responsibility to intervene when local governance fails its people. Guided by faith, accountability, and a commitment to restoring strong families and safe communities, we call for bold structural reform to end the cycle of dysfunction, reject the broken status quo, and pursue transparent, accountable leadership that serves Washington, DC’s residents and future generations.
Path Forward – Proposed New Governance Model for Washington, DC
Once Home Rule is repealed, Washington, DC will move to a transparent Governance Model that puts residents first and ends decades of unchecked failure. A formal liaison structure will directly connect DC residents with the United States Congress, the President, and an independent Federal oversight body ensuring coordination, constitutional governance, and real accountability. During this transition, Federal Agencies will temporarily oversee their local counterparts to restore safety, competence, and fiscal discipline.
